This is a breakfast symposium focusing on the current perspectives of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), including the disease biology, diagnostic evaluation, treatment options for low-risk and high-risk MDS, and the oncology nurse’s role in managing treatment and educating patients and caregivers. You'll receive an update on the therapies available for MDS patients. Discussion will cover the impact of comorbidities and psychosocial factors in disease management and how to improve the care for this patient population. Case studies will be used to illustrate the challenges of monitoring MDS and adapting therapy to improve outcome and quality of life for patients.
