Distinguished Nurse Researcher Award: Are We There Yet? Symptom Management in Oncology Nursing

Join Dr. Susan McMillan, Distinguished Nurse Researcher Award winner, for a comprehensive presentation on the results of symptom assessment and management studies over the past two decades. She'll illustrate the progress made in managing pain and other symptoms in patients with cancer, focusing on the symptoms that are the most prevalent, intense, and distressing. McMillan will also review quality-of-life data from persons with cancer and their family caregivers, explaining how it relates to the success of oncology nursing symptom management. 

OBJECTIVES

1. Describe the progress oncology nursing has made in improving cancer symptom outcomes.
2. Discuss the impact of oncology nurses on patient and caregiver quality of life.
